Meet PJ Johnson, Owner/Artisan of Dancing Blair Designs

Hi!

My name is PJ and I want to thank you for taking time to visit my website.

I grew up in New Hampshire and after graduating high school, I held a variety of jobs including bank clerk, library clerk, sound engineer for a rock band, Radio Shack store manager and customer service representative for a printing company.

It was at this last job that I met Anastasia Lewis, who not only was my supervisor, but she made (and still makes) beautiful hand-crafted jewelry. It was she who encouraged me to try my hand at it. The piece Anastasia is named after her.

After discovering that seed beads were too small to work with, I moved on to glass and semi-precious stones. After eight years of making the occasional piece for myself, I started making pieces for friends and family. Now, ten years after I started, and with the encouragement of my friends and family, I‘ve gotten brave enough to share my creations with you.

At the age of thirty-seven, I needed to try something new in my life, so I quit my job, packed up my two cockatiels, Arie and Bonnie, loaded up as much of my stuff as I could fit in my station wagon and drove cross-country to Arizona. Here I met the love of my life, Steve, who designed this website. We now share a home with Arie, Bonnie and two female cats named Sassy and Cagney.

Before Sassy came to live with us, there was Blair, for whom my company is named. If you want to read Blair’s story, check out Why Dancing Blair?
